Treatments To Control Chinch Bugs & Grubs
An important aspect of our outdoor insect control service is to utilize the proper treatments to eliminate common lawn pests for homeowners and commercial property owners, such as:
- Chinch Bugs
- Grubs
Chinch Bug Treatments
These tiny pests primarily feed on St. Augustine grass. However, they will also feed on Zoysia and Bermuda grasses. When you find expanding patches of dead grass surrounded by a halo of yellow or dying grass, you’ll know that you have a chinch bug infestation. We can treat your lawn for these damaging pests when you have this visual evidence. But we can also apply a preventative treatment before they get a foothold in your yard.
Grub Control
Grubs can kill a number of grass species, including Zoysia, Buffalo, Bermuda, and St. Augustine. They feed on the roots of your lawn killing the grass from underground. Grubs are more problematic during summer and fall.
The most effective time to apply grub control treatment is during the summer, between June and July. This is why we schedule your liquid insect prevention during June as the fourth treatment of your annual maintenance package.
Add-On Yearly Fire Ant Control
Though they do not actually harm your grass, their mounds are unsightly and their stings are painful. These aggressive pests prefer sunny patches of lawn. Typically, the best times for fire ant control treatments are during the spring and fall.
