about us

Greener LawnScapes

Daniel Sherrod has been in the lawn and landscape industry for 15+ years. He started his own lawn business in 2009 with a small trailer and a few pieces of mowing equipment (some borrowed) after working several years in the residential building industry. Growing up in the Brazos Valley on a farm near Caldwell (Royalty Pecan Farm), he learned hard work and appreciation for growing things. Landscape work is hot and hard and, yes, often a grind. Yet he truly loves making landscapes beautiful in the community he grew up in.That love of green healthy landscapes, combined with his years of experience is his motivation for offering the highest quality comprehensive landscape installation and maintenance services in the area. Nothing adds more value to communities than healthy landscapes and beautiful lush lawns, which is just the kind of services Greener LawnScapes loves to deliver!

Typically, lawns should be fertilized every 6 to 8 weeks during the growing season. This ensures that your grass receives the necessary nutrients to stay green and healthy. Our lawn fertilization programs are customized to your lawn’s specific needs to keep it lush year-round.g drought-tolerant plants, installing mulch to suppress weeds and retain moisture, and using perennial plants that require minimal care once established.

It’s best to mow your lawn once a week during the growing season to maintain a healthy height. However, growth can vary depending on weather conditions, so it’s important to follow the "one-third rule"—never cut more than one-third of the grass blade at a time to avoid stressing the lawn.

Yes, leaving grass clippings can be beneficial. They act as a natural fertilizer, returning nutrients like nitrogen back into the soil. Just make sure the clippings are not too thick, as that could lead to clumping and smothering of your grass.

Signs of a grub problem include brown, irregular patches that easily pull up like a carpet, as grubs feed on the grass roots. You may also see an increase in birds or animals digging in your lawn, as they are searching for grubs. If you suspect grub damage, contact us for an inspection and treatment options to protect your lawn.

"Greener Lawnscapes does a great job. The same crew arrives on time every week to take care of weekly cutting so the yard always looks great with a consistent cut. They also perform grass treatments to keep the yard free of bugs and diseases. And in the early spring take care of cleanup, mulching and adding plants as required. Their final service is Christmas Lights on the home and in the Oak Trees. Looks very nice.......Tim and Terri Long"
